What better way to celebrate the start of summer and the end of the college semester than to get the gang together for some picnic fun. There may be nothing quite as charming and fun and quaint as spreading out the old picnic blanket under a tree in the park somewhere and sitting down to a sumptuous feast. Yes, the art of picnicking is corny, old-fashioned, and maybe even a bit silly, but these are the sorts of pastimes that are sorely missed in this modern age.
Seriously, this is tremendous fun for the whole family, and nothing could be easier to do. All you need to do is pack up the kids, the dogs, and the grandparents in the car, add in some tasty vittles, and head out the door into the great wide open. If you don’t happen to have all you need, there is always the option to pick up some gear from a rental company. Popuppicnic can hire out picnic equipment, in fact just about everything you will need for a fun day in the sun (and shade of course!).
You can find nice shady spots in parks the world over. There are national parks, state parks, municipal parks, and even private parks. Even the backyard will work, and be just as much fun. Just make sure there is enough room to run around and play in, and you are good to go.
Bring along any sorts of outdoor stuff you like to play with, like baseball and softball gear, Frisbees, beach balls, jump ropes, kites, bubbles, balloons, and anything else that is fun to do outside. Bring the bicycles and skateboards if you have the room, and the more people the merrier.
For food, you can simply clean out the leftovers, or make simple sandwiches. If you want to get all fancy with caviar and champagne, all to the better. The whole point is not so much what you eat, but where you are eating it. Get a nice picnic blanket spread out, lay out the goodies, relax, and enjoy the day.
