Car paint protection can now be secured with finishings utilizing nanotechnology. Scratches and damages on cars are any vehicle owner’s headache. Nanotechnology is becoming significantly popular in Melbourne. This service is ideal for paint protection finishes and car paints. In truth, when it pertains to Paint Protection Melbourne is ahead of lots of other cities.

Kinds of paint protection:

Nanotechnology based automobile paint protection can be divided into two categories, i.e., innovation integrated within the vehicle paint formula and that which is used as a covering on standard vehicle paint. The second range is more flexible. It is also a true blessing for used automobile buyers. Such coatings further vary in their compositions. Examples of nanotechnology based finishings include ceramic polymer finishes and some nanoparticles containing finishes. The composition of the finishings eventually figures out the effectiveness of the coating.

What nanotechnology based car paints and paint finishings offer:

For beginners, these paints and finishes firmly affix the vehicle’s existing paint to the body of the car. Therefore, scratches and swirl marks do not establish on the paint as quickly as they would without such technology. Breaking of paints is likewise unlikely with this innovation in the paints or thanks to the coating over the paint.

The nanotechnology based paints and finishings are also weatherproof. For that reason, water, heat, ultraviolet light, pollutants and some strong chemicals are unlikely to harm the existing paint on the car.

The automobile’s paint usually begins looking faded after a time period. With this finish, the vehicle looks as shiny as a new car.

Cleaning the automobile becomes extremely easy, and less time consuming too. Bird droppings can likewise be cleaned really easily and will not harm the underlying paint. Likewise, a few of these paints and finishings safeguard the vehicle from scratches.

Traditionally, waxes and sealants were made use of for keeping water off from the car’s body. But these diminish within a year or so, and they require to be used again a number of times throughout the life expectancy of the vehicle. Unlike such waxes and sealants, nanotechnology based car paints and paint finishes last for a very long time, virtually for the lifetime of the automobile. Water, impurities and some extreme chemicals are accountable for the corrosion on the metallic frame once the paint diminishes. Grime likewise makes the automobile appearance filthy and cleaning it is not that simple either. But with nanotechnology based car paints and paint finishings, cleaning grime and dirt is considerably easier.

New approaches are still being studied to make the technology even more efficient and people from Melbourne will be ahead of others in embracing such innovations. How to create the perfect van sign

Small businesses rarely spend a lot on marketing but could you be missing an effective method of advertising by not having signs on your van? It can be extremely beneficial for a business to call on a professional signwriters Sydney to promote their business.

According to a recent study, as many as 40 per cent of tradespeople prefer their commercial vehicle to remain anonymous. Builders were the least likely to brand their vans, with 53 per cent choosing not to, while 83 per cent of roofers were happy to broadcast their profession.

Some firms are understandably wary of drawing unwanted attention from thieves but in cities it is estimated that as many as 3,000 people an hour will see your van – which could bring more business.

The pros and cons should be assessed on your circumstances. For example a business with a B2B customer base may not feel the need to promote itself but a tradesperson looking for fresh inquiries may want to. If you decide to apply branding to your van, what are the options?

There are two methods to consider, sign writing or wrapping. While sign writing used to mean paintbrushes and a pot of paint, it is now far more sophisticated and will usually involve the use of stencilled adhesive vinyl lettering on the bonnet, rear doors or side of the van.

Option two is a full or partial vehicle wrap, again using vinyl. This method has the added benefit of protecting the vehicle’s paintwork whilst serving as a blank canvas for your branding.

The whole vehicle colour can be changed if necessary, and businesses often buy a white van for its residual value and immediately wrap the vehicle in their colourful corporate colours, preserving the pristine paintwork for any later buyer.

The two methods achieve very different results, and the costs can vary widely in design and complexity but as a rough guide, basic sign writing in a single colour will cost around £150 (+VAT) for front, side and rear vinyl prints to be applied to a small van.

Expect to pay around £180 for a medium van and £250 for a large van, but costs could increase if additional design work is required. Application will also typically take just a few hours.

For a full vehicle wrap, the costs can be at least 10 times as much, with a large van costing anywhere from £1,500 to £2,500 (+VAT) depending on the design and the vinyl material used – a long-term wrap for use over five years will cost more than a temporary wrap that will be replaced within a year.

Partial wraps, often covering just the rear loadspace section of the van, will cost from £800 to £1,500. Wrapping vehicles can be time consuming: a partial wrap may take a few hours but a full wrap could see a vehicle off the road for a whole day.

Whether you choose a sign-written van or a vinyl wrap will depend on what sort of look you are aiming for. A simple design of company name or logo and contact details can be quickly and cheaply applied using vinyl lettering – you could even do the work yourself but be sure to carefully plan where the writing will appear in relation to panel gaps and creases.

Want a more eye-catching look? Graphics can help, and patterns and different coloured backgrounds can be used to make lettering stand out. Although the cost is greater, it is preferable to wrap a van with a complex design but wraps have the added benefit of being easily replicated in the event of damage, and are scalable and consistent if applying across multiple vehicles.

So, you have weighed up the options and decided if you are going to have a sign- written or wrapped van, but what information should you put on the vehicle, and where?

Professionals who design vehicle liveries recommend keeping it simple. Too much clutter can be confusing and your message can be lost. Their advice is to stick to easily identifiable images, names or logos and strong complementary colours.

Contact details should also be kept to a minimum with a website address and contact number usually sufficient.

The back of the van is often thought of as the best place for this information as it gives those travelling behind you the best chance of capturing the details.

Some companies may also like to specify what area they are based in if they travel across a large area and want to attract customers far and wide.

Don’t overlook telling potential customers what your business is. Graphics or words can do this as your company name might not make it immediately obvious what you do.

Whatever you choose, van signage is one of the most cost-effective ways of advertising your business, so don’t be afraid to explore the options. Check out the cheaper way to promote your business.

Why not talk to the experts at your local van centre, who can help steer you to a recommended local signage company. It might present you with new opportunities.

The Perfect Shine For Your Car

People often ask me how I make and keep my cars looking like a show car. “What wax do you use?” is the question that comes up most often. Unfortunately, it’s not quite that simple. If you want the perfect shine, you have to do a little work, and you have to work to keep it maintained. If your car’s paint is relatively new and in excellent condition, show car detailing to get the perfect shine will be far less work than with a car that’s five or more years old with heavy oxidation, paint scratches and other paint correction problems. Car detailing continues to evolve and become more involved all the time especially that we are now using a car polisher.

The process I’m about to explain came from years of experimenting with dozens of car polish and car wax products to discover what car detailing products produced the best results. As it happens, I stumbled on this process quite by accident.

Simply fooling around in the garage, I applied a Carnauba wax over a paint sealant on my Guards Red Porsche 944 Turbo. When I pulled the car out of the garage into the bright sunlight, I could not believe my eyes. The finish was noticeably deeper, richer and more vibrant. The paint had taken on a new depth, like it had a clear-coat finish.

After a few years of trying the process on a few dozen cars, I concluded that it works on all car finishes that are in good condition, but has the most dramatic effect on dark colors. With the ability to achieve consistent results, I decided I would give the process a name, The Perfect Shine.

In all fairness, I was not the first to discover “layering” car wax products. Autoglym and Klasse both beat me to it with their two-step systems. However, I do believe I was the first to discover and document applying a pure Carnauba wax over a sealant for the deepest, darkest shine possible.

Six Perfect Shine Requirements

The perfect shine comes when your car’s paint finish is in good condition, free of surface contamination, polished, glazed, protected and waxed. Let’s look at each of these requirements individually.

Tip-Top Paint Condition

For the first 12 to 18 months of a new car’s life, the paint is relatively oxidation-free and in good condition. If you maintain your new car’s paint with regular washing and protection, oxidation will remain minimal, and cleaning the paint will be a minor task.

At a minimum, you should wash your car once a week. If you don’t have time to wash weekly, try Quick Detailing.

Contamination-Free

As you drive your car, debris from the road (i.e., tar, oil, bugs, etc.) will lodge itself on your car’s paint. The longer this debris is allowed to remain, the more difficult it is to remove. This is just one reason that regular washing is so important. While outside, your car will also collect other contamination.

It seems like birds, bugs and neighborhood kids have a natural attraction to beautiful cars. Regardless, these contaminants must be removed; you can’t wax over them and expect to get a show car finish.

The easy way to remove the contamination is clay bar detailing.

Polished

Polishing is necessary to remove minor blemishes, including surface scratches, swirl marks, pitted areas (minor road stone nicks) and scuffs. When polished, the paint finish will feel perfectly smooth. Your hand and polishing towel will literally glide over the surface.

Feeling a perfectly polished car is a stimulating experience for most car nuts. There’s nothing quite like the polished fenders of a curvaceous Porsche, Ferrari, Viper or Corvette.

Glazed

Glaze is a term that’s grossly misused in detailing products. Glazes are paint treatments used to fill small surface scratches and swirl marks.

To a painter, glaze is the term used to describe the process of restoring full paint gloss. In The Perfect Shine, ultra-fine polishes are used to refine the paint finish to achieve or restore full gloss.

Protected

Paint is protected when it’s sealed from the elements. Synthetic paint sealants offer the best protection. They are easily five to ten times more durable (longer lasting) than Carnauba waxes.

They offer extended protection from the elements and create a super-slick surface. In The Perfect Shine process, the synthetic protection is an acrylic sealant called Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze.

In addition to providing excellent protection, Klasse Sealant Glaze also helps to hide or minimize the appearance of fine swirl marks. I have not found a polymer sealant that works in the Perfect Shine process. I will explain why later.

Waxed

Waxing is the final step of The Perfect Shine. We’re not talking just any wax here; we’re talking about a pure, natural Carnauba, like P21S Carnauba Wax. Pure carnauba waxes don’t have cleaning properties or synthetic compounds added. They are made from a blend of carnauba waxes, beeswax and natural oils.

A quality show car wax gives paint depth and warmth. I know, I know, it sounds like we’re talking about a fine wine or something. Just don’t underestimate the value of a great show car wax when it comes to the final results of your car’s finish.

Now that you know the six requirements for The Perfect Shine, I’ll share with you my personal tips that keep my cars turning heads. The first thing to know is that I treat my toys differently than my daily driver.

It’s very difficult to maintain a perfect shine on a daily driver, unless you only drive it a mile or two a day. Show cars (toys) are easier, because their job is to stay beautiful. Find out the car polisher that can make your car shine.

Artist Action Plan: How To Create Yours Now

Beside creating art, the most important step in developing your art career is to take action! You can enter or relaunch your career either haphazardly or with a plan. The one you pick will likely determine how long you stick with it and if there is a happy ending to your story. If you enter (or re-enter) the market with a plan, it means that you’re tuned up. Your tools are in order, your strategies are focused and your attitude is adjusted. Storyboard artist create storyboards by implementing storytelling objectives.

As an artist, your mind is usually flooded with ideas – but great ideas will never reach their potential if they are not enacted. Often there are too many ideas swirling around in your head – that’s where your action plan comes in. Once created, you can identify priorities from your plan and focus on your creative path. Your priorities will provide you with a direction of where and how you need to spend your time. The other areas of your art career that don’t involve creating can seem like a tedious chore. Activities that involve marketing your art, writing your bio, uploading images, applying to shows – are all part of expanding your business. If you consider them an extension of your creating, you will find them more valuable as these activities begin to offer you more freedom to create.

Okay, so maybe this isn’t news to you. You’ve thought about creating a plan, people who support you have suggested it – maybe you’ve even written a sticky note and stuck on your To-Do list – yea? Hey good for you! Unless you’ve actually done it, my guess is that note-to-self has transferred along your calendar with each passing day and may in fact be losing its stick. Don’t look for blame or shame here, there is none, simply a chance to do it now, like there is no tomorrow.

So whether you need to shake things up and relaunch your career or you’re launching for the first time, get a note pad (a big one) and pen and write some notes to yourself while you read this article – quick before any panic sets in!

First, let’s address a couple of areas before we begin. Write your own list on your own paper. It’s okay to print this list here for reference, but to make it real and yours, write it in your own words. This article is focused for painters and illustrators, but is a good place to start for any creative career. Please adjust it to fit your own creative focus.

Next, these steps listed are quick and basic and are meant to spur you on in the direction that your inner artist already knows to go – so add to the list as ideas come to you, but keep it simple and small. I’ll put some resources at the end of this page to lead you to more detailed steps than there is room for here. These are steps that you can start right now that will build the foundation for planning and setting goals for your art for the long-term. The idea is not to make a super-detailed plan set-in-stone; instead, you want a bendable plan (like Gumby!) that moves and stretches with your evolving goals and your path of exploration as an artist.

If you want your art-making to blossom and grow, you must treat it like a living thing: nourish, nurture and release it. Once created it’s an outside thing – your seed bloomed!

Like it or not, your art is a product, a thing you’ve made. To release it, you either give it away or sell it. Selling it and making money from it is not a sell-out. Receiving money for your art is part of the circle of giving and receiving… and giving again. The unique way you produce your art, your story about your process and the methods you choose to sell it will set the tone for the integrity of your work. If you want only to create for yourself, then you wouldn’t be reading this far – so trust your instincts and move forward to create and share your unique vision.

Got your pen, paper? Write your title:

(your name) Amazing Artist Action Plan

  1. Evaluate your skills. (e.g., artistic, business, selling)
  2. Research and learn.
  3. Jot down your philosophy, mission or statement. Make note to review later.
  4. Set up a workspace.
  5. Schedule time to create.
  6. Create a budget.
  7. Create 10 or more finished pieces.
  8. Price your art.
  9. Have your art photographed professionally and saved digitally.
  10. Assemble a portfolio.
  11. Get a bank account for your art and a PayPal account.
  12. Select and build home base for your online presence as an artist. (e.g., website, blog, online shop)
  13. Select and create one or two places to connect and share your story and build your community. (e.g., blog, YouTube, Twitter)
  14. Select and create where will you show and/or sell your work. (e.g., Etsy, Flickr, Zazzle)
  15. Select sources where you will go to learn about fellow artists, get inspired, learn what’s new and find resources and opportunities and schedule daily or weekly visit. (e.g., Twitter, art magazines, art business blogs, art forums, Facebook groups)
  16. Make a list of your favorite artists who you consider working successfully and review how and where they market their work.
  17. Seek out seasoned artist mentors whom you can talk with.
  18. Decide what ways you would like to show your work in person and get applications and contact information. (e.g., open studio, gallery, festival, alternative space)
  19. Determine your audience and buyers.
  20. Create a calendar or dedicated planner for your office work.
  21. Make room for balanced down-time to exercise, meditate, eat whole, healthy foods and rest. A healthy lifestyle supports sustained creativity.
  22. Make a note to review this list a week or two from now and revise as needed.
  23. Find your Rhythm.
  24. Do #7 again and again.
  25. Keep going – Repeat.

Now, take a look at your paper and let’s go through them quickly together. Do you have all 25 written down? Cool. Schedule #1-3, 5 and 6 to be done within the next 10 days.

#4 can be a small corner in the kitchen or area of your house where you don’t have to move it. Doesn’t have to be a grand space yet.

#7 is good to plan a minimum of one painting (change to fit your art) per month. I highly recommend more than that depending on your style and the speed at which you want to enter the marketplace.

#8-10 will take a little time to organize. Decide how you want to archive your images. Only digital photography or film? I still have my work shot with large format film (4 x 5) it takes a few days to process, then I scan and create digital archives. If a piece is late for a show or you’re in a hurry, going straight to digital works just fine. It’s a good idea to have a portfolio in more than one form, but I don’t recommend an expensive print product in the beginning. Over time, you can select your best work and create a showcase, for now, one image (with description and price) on a single white sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ paper and organized in a binder is a great start and something you can easily and inexpensively duplicate and edit. Organize your digital files by series and file size and create CD or external hard-drive backups.

#11 can be done in one morning. #12 can be started while you are working on your art. Get as much on your home site as you can right away: landing page, bio or about page, a blog page or space for news and events and a page for your online portfolio. Check what you’ve learned from #16 and 17 and apply it here.

As soon as you have your focus and philosophy, you can start #13. #14, can wait until your home web site is completed. Once you have your first targets, #15-18 will be an ongoing routine of keeping a feel for what’s going on and where your art sits in the mix and that will lead you to #19.

Start the business planner today (#20). It can be ruled notebook, a moleskin or a day planner with a calendar and place for notes. You can take this digital if you are more comfortable with it, but a plain old notebook encourages spontaneous doodles and sketches, so that’s my choice. As you find your rhythm, you can upgrade and personalize this vital piece or your art business.

I can’t stress enough how important #21 is. You may have the idea that if you’re a happy artist you’re not a real artist. The stories we all hear or maybe even a friend or two you know – where artists are tortured, depressed or have fits of dementia in order to create may seem like a prerequisite for creative genius. Sadly, states of depression, dark moods and illnesses are more prevalent today than ever. If a person creates within these states of illness, self-loathing or altered states of consciousness, brief moments of creativity may emerge. A better path for longevity in all areas is to support your whole person, which holds your creative spirit. The key is finding your balance of mind, body and spirit. If you do, you are rewarded with unhindered access to your inner space where true creativity lives. You’ll then be able to bring out your truth and communicate meaning with clarity and passion that will have the power to transform yourself and your community in positive ways – ways you never could reach with anything less.

Do #22 often. #24 and 25 are for life, they will change and grow over time, but you’ll never cross them off your list.

Before I leave you here, are your eyes glazed over or is panic setting in? Okay, try this for a quick refocus. After a deep breath (always the first step), take a break and get grounded. Get outside if possible and stick your bare feet in the grass or on concrete or stone for 15 minutes or so. Add your own special touch while you do this (e.g., more deep breathing, standing stretches, close your eyes and do peaceful visualizations let all that tension flow into the ground) Sounds silly, but it works. When you come back inside, read over your list with your renewed calm and simply begin. Check out the story artist works as your guide.

The Evolution of Kitchen Designs

We really have come a long way in cooking and kitchen designs. A modern kitchen is now quite different to early kitchens thanks to developments in electricity, water pipes and other materials. Today’s modern kitchen includes so many functions and appliances those generations between us could never imagine. If you take a journey back over the history of the kitchen from the beginning, you can see what sort of luxury we have now. We will work with you from inception through to completion, achieving the optimum result for your kitchen designers Sydney.

In fact, in medieval ages, peasants did not have their own kitchens. Public kitchens were used and only the rich or wealthy had their own kitchen, usually with a cook. It is a world so far removed from our modern way of life, and so fascinating. Cooking was mostly done over an open fire and was obviously a much lengthier and harder process than we are used to today. Fires were used to keep warm and to cook and food was obviously very basic. But even our earliest ancestors enjoyed sharing a meal with others and it has always been considered a social event, even in the early days of mankind.

As technology evolved, the iron stove was introduced. These stoves rather than being an open fire were closed in and this made cooking more efficient. By the late 19th century gas cooking was much more common. Cities started to build pipes, sewers and other forms of infrastructure, which made life a little easier, and meant that a consistent and reliable source of gas could be had. But kitchens were still nowhere near the modern day kitchen and often the kitchen room was also used as a bathroom or sleeping room.

The middle classes would often use the kitchen as the main family room, whereas the upper classes really used it just as a kitchen and usually allowed the room to be run entirely by cooks and maids. All the things we take for granted now such as running water and sinks, electricity to boil a kettle or light the room, were not so readily available throughout history. In the very early days, people had to carry pots or jugs of water a long way.

Now in modern times, we use the kitchen for more than just cooking food of course. It is a place for friends and family to come together and enjoy time as well as eat food together. Our modern kitchens are a reflection on our personalities and of course there still is a certain class divide just like in the good old days, but less prominent. If a person has a lot of money, such as celebrities or wealthy business people, then kitchens in their homes are usually pretty grand. But with modern designs, fitted kitchens, and lots of different ranges, most homes now have lovely kitchens and kitchen renovation certainly has taken off in recent years.

Now we have a choice of so many designs and layouts, accessories and appliances, we can create pretty much any kitchen we want. Open plan kitchens are becoming more popular if you are lucky enough to have the space. Modern appliances and so many colours and products mean that you can have the kitchen of your dreams much easier.

Just as fashion has changed over the years, so have kitchens. Designs for modern kitchens 50 years ago were different to what we see today, with the evolution of more technology. Many influences have come from Europe especially Italy, France and Germany. Some people really like to make a statement with their kitchens and go for very bright colours, or unique appliances and accessories. Others prefer a minimalist look and feel, while others still might like the classic or traditional looks.

If you are looking for a kitchen for sale or unique kitchen designs, then a look through the ages and the journey we have come through may just give you some inspiration. Planning a modern kitchen with all mod cons can be a lot of fun and we certainly are blessed in these modern times with many comforts and appliances to make using the kitchen a joy, and much easier to use. Understanding where we have been and where we are now in terms of kitchen usage is great as it gives us a deeper understanding of a room that the kitchen is not just there for preparing food, but also for social and interactive space.

Iain Jenkins writes articles for KDCUK who offers bespoke kitchen designs in a variety of styles. If a modern kitchen is what customers are looking for, KDCUK is the ideal place. The range is diverse but always contemporary. With many kitchen sale offers available, customers should make sure they get the right quality for their money. Not every modern kitchen can offer the same durability as KDCUKs German handleless kitchens. These kitchens also have a designer look making it worth every penny. Do You Make As Much As A Union Worker Electrician?

The media loves misery. There’s definitely a lot of bad out there, but does the media really have to focus on suffering 24/7 to generate viewership? Perhaps disinterest with negativity is partially the reason why old media is dying. And perhaps because old media is dying, journalists can’t help but write depressing things. (life hack tip: don’t watch the news for a week and observe your stress level go down and your happiness go up.) A full trained electrician Brisbane Southside works on fixing our circuits last weekend rush.

I’ve long believed that many people make much more than we know or think. Always watch what people DO with their money, and not what they say. If they are just making ends meet, why is there a nice car in their driveway? Debt and poor choices can’t explain everything. Or can they?

We sometimes like to think other people are struggling to make ourselves feel better. But “other people” are ourselves. It’s much better to focus on bettering ourselves don’t you think? Some people had to start over in their 60s due to the financial crisis. While other people made a fortune scooping up deals for cents on the dollar. Try to always look at the positive side of things no matter what, because if you don’t believe in yourself, nobody else will.

Here’s a whole list of six figure jobs in multiple industries in case you’re curious and need proof that you don’t need to graduate at the top of your class to make a large income. This post is about discovering one more.

STATISTICS PLUS ANECDOTES = REALITY

Whenever I highlight an average income or an average net worth, those who are below average tend to advocate the use of median figures and vice versa. It’s curious no matter what the statistics say, there’s somebody out there somewhere who doesn’t believe the figures.

Given the skepticism, I like to look at real life anecdotes and report back my findings. For example, I’ve come to realize there’s a lot of parental help for adult children in San Francisco to afford property, graduate school tuition, and new cars. Perhaps not everything will be OK as I hypothesized, but the idea of demonstrating a tremendous work ethic, aggressive savings, and risk taking is no longer the only option to gain wealth. Our parents are another great option so treat them well!

I’d like to share with you my latest income anecdote as another example of people making way more than we think. Most people don’t view being an electrician as a very lucrative job. I’m not sure anybody sees blue collar labor in general as being very lucrative. But after spending an afternoon listening to my electrician’s story, I think all of you will be surprised at how much a union electrician in SF makes!

MAKING A SMALL FORTUNE AS A UNION ELECTRICIAN

I’ve known Leroy for a couple years now. The first time I met Leroy was on the public tennis courts on Turk St. and Laguna St., a block away from the projects in San Francisco. Jabir, the poorest richest person I know made the introduction.

Leroy is a 44 year old black man weighing in at roughly 215 pounds and stands 6 feet tall. He has a decent tennis game, but because he wasn’t in fighting shape he tired easily after the first set. Given I’m a grinder who can last for three hours, Leroy couldn’t keep up and eventually lost our friendly match 3-6, 2-6. Leroy was a nice guy, so when I had to change my outside electrical panel, I gave him a call to do the work.

Given Leroy lived in Bayview, an “up and coming” neighborhood in SF where housing prices are 50% below the median SF housing price, partly thanks to crime, I never imagined Leroy as someone who made a lot of money. I figured I would pay him an hourly rate of $30 or less to get the project done. Instead, he came back to me with a bid of $50 an hour, which is supposedly $25 an hour cheaper than the going rate. Fine.

Leroy came to my house early one afternoon because he said his union negotiated a new deal with the city. His hours are now 7:30am to 2:30pm, M-F for only 35 hours a week and no more. I told him that was a great schedule, and he told me the union negotiated a new pay increase as well. Always curious, I asked him how much he made a year.

“Sam, I’m making $150,000 a year working 35 hours a week. It can’t get much better than that,” said Leroy. I agreed and asked him about other work he does given he has so much free time.

“Well, I’m here working for you now, and I’ve got a lot of other side jobs too. Overall, I make around $200,000 a year,” Leroy responded.

$200,000 is my ideal income for maximum happiness and Leroy admitted he was “living the dream.” Leroy also mentioned something else important.

“My biggest regret is going to college. Some of my colleagues are making much more since they went straight to trade school after high school and have so much more saved up. I’ll get roughly $5,000 a month in pension money once I hit 55, but when they hit 55, they’ll get $6,000 a month or more.”

I was floored! Here’s a guy who I thought was in the lower income group absolutely crushing it. The $5,000 a month pension for life is something only a few of us could ever dream of, but not Leroy. 11 more years and he’s there. The value of a $60,000 a year pension is $1.5 million if you use a interest rate of 4%, or $2 million if you use an interest rate of 3%. Check out the works of our electrician Brisbane.

Spring Is the Season for Opening a Pool

If you live in an area with a seasonal swim season, spring is the time to prepare for your pool opening. Although you can always hire a pool cleaning service for help opening a pool, many homeowners take pride and enjoyment in doing it themselves. If you’re one of those people, you’ll want to keep some tips in mind before you take the plunge. Our service is highly recommended for all types of Sydney pool removal whether it may be a concrete or fibre glass pool.

Pool Opening Checklist

If you’re wondering how to open an inground pool this spring, check out this handy checklist for some simple steps to follow for an easy pool opening process.

Clean the deck and cover.

One of the first steps to opening a pool is removing the pool cover, but before you do so, clean the deck area to prevent debris from being swept into the swimming pool. This will also give you some space to prep the pool cover for storage without worrying about sticks and stones puncturing the material. For more intensive swimming pool cleaning services, purchase a small, portable pump to remove standing water from the cover. Of course, you could always just grab a garden hose and broom to sweep the debris and dirt to one side for quick cleanup.

Remove the pool cover and place it in storage.

If you’re lucky enough to own an automatic pool cover, you’re good to go. If you have a winterizing cover on the other hand, ask someone to help you remove it and lay it on a clean area of your deck. This way, as a part of your pool cleaning service, you can scrub it with a mild detergent, hose it down and let it dry thoroughly before folding and storing it in a clean, dry place. Storing it in a dirty or wet state can cause major damage like rot and mildew.

Remove the plugs.

Hopefully the pool was winterized properly. If so, you should have plastic plugs in the water inlets, keeping water out of the pipes so they don’t freeze and crack. Now is the part of the pool cleaning service when you remove them. If you winterized your pool with antifreeze, lower the water level to below these inlets. Next, remove the plugs and drain the antifreeze into a bucket.

Hook up all light fixtures.

Often, companies that offer swimming pool cleaning services recommend lowering the water level for winterizing. When this is the case, they typically remove underwater light fixtures from their housing with the wires still connected to prevent lights from cracking under the freezing conditions. If yours were removed, coil the wire back inside the niche and snap the light fixture into place.

Set up your deck equipment.

If your diving board, handrails, ladders or slides were removed, reinstall them. Also, spray a nut and bolt lubricant on all bolts to prevent them from rusting (sold at hardware stores).

Reinstall skimmer baskets and fittings.

If you removed the skimmer baskets from your inground pool, remove the winter plates and reinstall the skimmers. Hook up the hoses from the skimmer and return jets. For all swimming pools, insert removable skimmer baskets to catch large debris before entering into the filtration system. This goes a long way when it comes to a successful pool cleaning service.

Reconnect the pump, filter and heater.

If you removed the pump, reinstall it along with the filter and the heater if you use one. Ensure the fittings are tightened and cleaned. If you removed drainage plugs, valves and pressure gauges, replace them as well. If you’re not working with a professional swimming pool cleaning services company, consult your owner’s manuals for help with start-up procedures.

Fill the pool with water.

When opening a pool, be sure the water level reaches about midway on the waterline tile or to the middle of any skimmer weirs. You can also remove any stains or scale from the tile with any household tile cleaner.

Power up the pool.

Switch the circuit breaker back on while keeping the equipment turned off until you can get back over to your pool. Ensure the valves are open and fill the pump with water for proper priming. Switch on the circulation system taking the time to search out leaks and cracks. Quickly turn the power off if you see any damage and consult a repair technician.

Treat the water.

Test the water’s sanitizer residual, pH and alkalinity using all-in-one test strips or test kits. Most pool cleaning service professionals recommend shocking the pool water upon pool opening to kill bacteria and algae.

Run the system until the pool is clean and clear.

Run the filter for 24 hours, vacuum debris and retest the water. Some swimming pool cleaning services experts recommend reducing pump operation to one hour per day until normal filtration cycle time is reached.

It’s a lot more enjoyable to swim in your pool than clean it. But knowing how to open an inground pool properly is the most important step to long-lasting swimming satisfaction!
